Vehicles in German Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Officers mentioned they were alerted by a resident who found a car in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.

Officers say they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then found numerous other vandalized cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; investigators are not yet informed of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have asked to the residents for details.

An important official said the attack left him speechless and had to be addressed promptly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he wrote on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
